Arizona Dude Ranch Vacations – Small Number of Guests Leads to Big Adventure
When it comes to choosing a dude ranch for your vacation, a smaller number of guests often means a bigger quality of experience. While dude ranches that can handle a lot of guests may offer more amenities, they can lose a lot of the personal touches that turn an average vacation into an experience to remember. At the Double Circle Ranch, an Arizona dude ranch, we want the number of guests to not exceed eight. The exceptions to this are team building, family reunions, or retreats where the one party has the entire ranch to themselves.
Having small groups lets us accommodate individual preferences. If your daughter wants to ride horses all day, your son wants to go hiking, and you and your spouse want to have a wildlife and scenery tour, we can do that. Plus your family or friends are part of a working ranch. You will have your choice of helping do everyday chores like herding cattle and checking fence – or not. You eat with us, sit around the campfire with us – and hopefully leave as friends with us. You become part of this famous old ranch – and we expect to see you next year!
Visit the Double Circle Ranch to experience an Arizona Dude Ranch adventure right out of the Old West.
Finding The Cheap Flights
If you need to fly abroad & your budget is limited, what could possibly be the best option for you? You would definitely prefer cheap air travel. & the next query that would come to your mind would be where you would find cheap flights. The answer is again simple- find it on the net.
With web access, finding cheap air travel is convenient for you. It is a matter of few clicks & you are through. With the availability direct & new airline inventory to the people, finding cheap flights on the net are becoming increasingly popular. Everyone is finding better & cheap deals on the net. You need not waste time with any of the local travel agencies now.
With the availability of cheap air travel reservation on web, you have the option of planning your own travel arrangements. You can cross check the prices yourself of your favorite destinations. The greater number of consumer access on net has also enabled the airline industry to introduce new air policies. The net reservation has drastically reduced the air fares.
If you need to find cheap air tickets, prefer going for the eleventh hour flights. The chances of getting cheap air tickets posted at last minute are high. Airlines do not announce cheap tickets for their initial opening seats. They usually announce them a few days before take off. So whenever possible opt for buying last minute tickets.
You must be flexible in your approach. You ought to start your search with a pre-determined target price in mind. This would narrow down your search. If you find an air price similar to your target price, try & work around some travel days, to see if you can get an even more reduced price. This option requires that your planning for travel should be flexible.
Finding alternative air travel is a smart option, if you need to reach your location at a low cost. You can book & fly to a secondary airport of the city. This ensures considerable reduced air flight tickets. For example if you need to travel to Chicago, you can book your ticket to Midway airport. Travelling to a destination close to your location can also cost you comparatively less.
While searching for cheap tickets, you ought to check on the day & time of the ticket purchase as both play an important part on ticket prices. Prefer buying a ticket during midnight as there is a valid reason behind it. The airlines reload their database regarding reserved & booked seats during the midnights.
So you can buy the reserved seats which are available for booking. The cost of their booking is comparatively low. Traveling on weekends is a smart option if you need to find cheap air tickets. You can get cheaper tickets if you plan to leave on Saturday & return on Monday than leaving on Friday & returning on Sunday.
Now if you are looking at corporate air travel or private air travel some of these tips still apply but some obviously don’t. Travel agents can help you with these but of course these are not the cheapest ways to fly.
How to Deal with Motion Sickness When You Travel
Motion sickness is a feeling of nausea that can occur when travelling in a car, plane, train, boat or even when in water. Nausea is a very uncomfortable experience and if you are dealing with a child who has this issue you know that they feel terrible. There are certain ways to prevent this as well as to treat it to relieve the problem.
As a child growing up, my cousin always got sick when in the car. He found that sitting in the front seat was a way that this didn’t occur. Perhaps there was a factor of sibling rivalry that was a component of this issue and sitting in the front relieved the tension in the family. It may also have to do with the issue of control as some people find that if they are nauseous as passengers on a boat, they can feel fine when they are steering it. This is a very interesting finding as it does seem that the factor of passivity or being directive can be a factor.
Reading while in the car is often something that can make someone feel nauseous. The book does not move and the eyes are trying to concentrate on it. Yet the inner ears and receptors of the skin are experiencing the sense of moving forward. The brain is getting mixed messages between the different senses which can lead to the sensation of nausea. Instead of reading or playing with an electronic gadget, it is better to look outside at something in the distance. Of course, it’s fine to use headphones to hear music but it is best to not have the eyes focusing downward at a fixed object.
When on water on a sailboat or power boat, it’s best to stay at the highest level and to not go down below. Sitting at the center of a boat helps with balance. When on an airplane sitting in the aisle seats will feel the best for those prone to motion sickness.
There are some over the counter medications used to combat nausea related to car sickness, feeling sea sick and other forms of motion sickness. You can also find acupressure bands to use that press on points on the wrist to help someone feel a sense of equilibrium. If you or your child are going through this experience, keep in mind that it is a temporary state and will pass. Some people find that lying down helps if nausea sets in.
When you are in a plane, it’s important to stay calm and relaxed to not get increased pressure or feelings of panic. What to Pack for Your Working Dude Ranch Vacation
People sometimes ask what to bring on their vacation at our working dude ranch. No need to pack dress clothes. We sure don’t dress for dinner- a quick scrub of face and hands usually suffices, maybe a clean shirt if it has been really hot. Clothes should be comfortable. Just bring the basics – walking boots if you plan on hiking, boots with heels if you plan on riding, camp sneakers, a hat with brim (cowboy hats are always good), light weight long sleeve shirts, a bathing suit, rain jacket, blue jeans, and layers of good old broke-in duds. Remember that the temperature here fluctuates with the sun. It can be hot in the day and chilly two hours later.
Also bring your sleeping bag, towels, and standard toiletries – there are no stores for a three-hour round trip – don\\\’t forget your toothbrush! And do pack sunscreen. We are at 4500-7500 feet elevation with clean, pollution-free air – you can get a sunburn quickly! Sunglasses are a must too, as is a camera if you want to shoot some of the wildest and prettiest country in the U.S.A. If you have binoculars, bring them. Birding is excellent and herds of antelope, elk, javelina, and deer are widespread. Plus there is always a chance to see the elusive grey wolf or mountain lion. BUT- the number one thing to bring is a sense of adventure and wonder. Welcome to the Double Circles!

Luggage Sets or Rolling Suitcase
A good luggage set should have five qualities: mobility, flexibility, pack ability, compatibility and expandability. It should also have a unique design with wide range of colors and materials to choose from. But before purchasing a luggage set, you must first consider whether you need a set or not. If you are traveling alone, it is advisable that you only buy one luggage with a rolling suitcase. But if you are traveling with your family on a long vacation or business trip, you should buy the luggage set for your clothes and accessories.
Choosing a unique style of luggage set doesn’t mean you have to buy designer luggage sets. You might consider a luggage set that suits you and satisfy your needs. The value and the owner’s state are usually reflected on the design and style of his/her luggage set. Some of these luggage sets comes in different stylish accessories for avid travelers on vacation, special occasion, business trip etc.
Choosing the design and style of luggage is your personal choice. But it is also advisable that you choose a set that has lightweight design because airlines have limited weight capacity for your luggage. If your luggage weighs more than the limited weight capacity, you are required to pay an additional fee. Also, choose luggage sets with wheels so that they are easy to move around.
Most designer label luggage is made from leather. These sets have high durability and luxury. They have stylish design and are made in various qualities such as top grain, full grain and genuine or split leather. The split leather luggage sets are less durable but more attractive than top and full grain leather luggage sets. However these leather luggage sets are very expensive and can cost 2 or 3 times more expensive than the ordinary set.
Also, you can choose loud colors luggage set to reduce the chance of losing your luggage. Loud color design is usually easy to notice on densely populated places like airports. But if you don’t want attention, you can choose classic colors like black and brown.
Choose luggage with handles that are retractable. Good handles provide easy maneuverability when extended out from the case and can neatly be stored inside when not in use. Samsonite 5 piece nested luggage sets has push-button locking handle system for easy maneuverability. Most designer bags come with locks to ensure security especially if you are in hotels, airports or other public places.
Last points to consider, it is better if you can easily put your luggage under the seat in front of you. Good luggage sets should have different areas for storing different accessories and it should be expandable. Some luggage has expandable sections that give you an extra 3 inches in depth.

Why You Should Consider Retiring to Beautiful Costa Rica
Costa Rica, one of the most picturesque locations in all of the world, is now gaining a reputation as not only the ideal vacation spot, but also the perfect place to retire as more and more people are discovering what’s long been known as the “Jewel of Central America.”
In addition to its close proximity to the United States, it is home to a warm climate and offers plenty of natural beauty, not to mention the ability to enjoy a high standard of living at a relatively low cost.
Costa Rica’s low cost of living is a fraction of the price it is in other countries, the U.S. in particular. For example, household items and utilities are as much as 70% lower and although the cost of housing has risen steadily in recent years in Costa Rica, in comparison, real estate is still far more reasonable than it is in the States.
A small, basic home might average $60,000 to $70,000 while at the other end of the spectrum, there are also multimillion dollar estates and luxurious mansions to be had.
Yet another attractive benefit in terms of finances for those retiring in Costa Rica from the United States are no income taxes on social security benefits as well as no taxes on capital gains.
Thanks to the constitution and laws of Costa Rica, foreign nationals enjoy the same rights as the country’s citizens. This, coupled with the stable, democratic government in place since the late 1940s, gives retirees the opportunity to have peace of mind while living in a tropical like environment.
Even those people seeking a less humid, cooler climate have the choice of living in San Jose and in the Central Valley area where year round temperatures average in the 80s during the days and a balmy 70s or 60s in the evenings. Heating and air conditioning are usually both unnecessary and many homes are not even equipped with furnaces.
The population of roughly four million residents enjoy a slower paced lifestyle, along with excellent health insurance, a rather alluring benefit for those about to retire soon. Ranked by the United Nations as having the best health care services in Latin America and amongst the top 20 throughout the world, Costa Rica offers health insurance through its government that covers 80% of medical costs.
This relatively small land, roughly 32,000 square miles, also boasts one of the highest literacy rates of any country, an impressive 95%, along with one of the longest life expectancy rates, an average of 77 years. Ticos, or the native people of Costa Rica are also known for their friendly, helping nature and the country continues to enjoy a low violent crime rate.
Besides all of the gorgeous scenery, there’s plenty to do in with its collection of national parks and beaches along with a variety of cultural events to experience.
If you have ever dreamed of living in a picturesque, tranquil place far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, retiring to Costa Rica and discovering its many hidden treasures may be worth seriously considering.

Will Jet Lag Ruin The Start Of Your Vacation?
The summer holiday planning season is with us again and many thousands of us will be jetting off to far flung corners of the globe to lie on a tropical beach and soak up the sun, to trek through some of world’s most beautiful wilderness countryside, to see some of the architectural wonders of the world or to simply explore new countries and cultures. And, unfortunately, many thousands of us will find the first few days of our vacation will also see us trying to recover from the effects of jet lag.
But is jet lag an inevitable part of modern long-haul travel?
The answer to this question depends very much on where you are flying to. If you start your journey in Sydney, Australia and fly to Tokyo, Japan then you will not experience any jet lag symptoms at all because, even though you are flying some 7,000 miles, your journey essentially takes you due north so that your starting point and destination lie in the same time zone. However, if you fly from Sydney to London, England then you will fly east to west across ten standard time zones and you will certainly experience jet lag.
Jet lag is really nothing more than the result of your own internal body clock being out of synchronization with local time and, while your body clock can adjust itself to come into line with local time, adjusting your body clock takes time.
If you fly across just two or three time zones then the time difference experienced is small enough that you probably will not really notice it greatly and your internal clock will adjust quite quickly. However, if you fly across four or more time zones then the difference will be noticeable and your body clock will take longer and longer to adjust as you cross more and more time zones.
In our example of flying from Sydney to London your body clock will take several days to adjust itself fully and, in the meantime, you are likely to find yourself suffering from insomnia, finding it difficult to get to sleep at night and to get up in the morning, feeling tired during the day, possibly experiencing difficulty in eating with nausea, stomach upset, a feeling of dehydration, a headache, and much more.
So what can be done?
There are a whole variety of ‘traditional’ remedies for jet lag including diets, formulas, over-the-counter medication, sleeping pills, melatonin and others and each has its supporters and detractors, but are these ‘traditional’ remedies the answer?
The simple answer to this question is no. These ‘traditional’ remedies do not work and, in some cases, will actually make your jet lag worse.
Jet lag treatment is not a matter of pills and formulas, but requires you to devise a plan centered on your specific travel plans and lifestyle which allows you to assist your body’s natural process of adjusting its own internal body clock. This means taking a series of steps in preparation for your journey, as well as during your flight and at your destination. In some cases these will be enough to help you avoid jet lag altogether and, in others, they will certainly help to reduce the effects of jet lag considerably.
