          What Exactly Is A Backlink?

 

Wikipedia has the following to say about backlinks: In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node (Björneborn and Ingwersen, 2004). Backlinks are also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.

 

Whether you believe it or not, backlinks are essential for anyone trying to rank high in the search engines. Since most savvy marketers target high spots on Google (meaning, they want to rank in the  number 1 spot on Google for their preferred search term), the name of the game is called “who has the best backlinks” to his or her site.

 

Before you think you can game the search engine think again. It doesn’t work that way. He or she who has the most high quality incoming links to their site is ultimately going to rank the highest, therefore making the most money.

 

You think that BOT you got is going to give you the links you need? Wait until the forum mods knock your links for SPAMMING the forum. What do you think Google does then! If you said anything but punish you, think again.

 

What is a natural progression of link building? How about different PR from all different types of sites with some relevance to the content on your site. It could be a small or large amount of relevance… Do not think Google is even close to STUPID! They have 500 million plus variables in the algorithm they run.

 

          How Do I Make A Backlink Using HTML?

 

For many newbie marketers it is a nightmare to even think about creating the proper syntax to code a backlink in HTML. Here is how you do it correctly: <a href=”http://www.thesiteurlyouwanttolinkto.com”>This Is Your Anchor Text/Keyword</a>

 

The above structure is how you create an anchor text link that links back to your site. The anchor itself is nothing else than the actual keyword you want to rank for. So if your niche is acne cream recipes and your site URL is  www.acneremovenow.com then the anchor text would be as follows:

 

<a href=”http://www.acneremovenow.com”>acne cream recipes</a>

 

When a reader visits the site, this link is placed on, he or she will only see the actual keyword (acne cream recipes) which is highlighted as live link back to your site. The rest of the code is hidden from your eyes as it only concerns search engine spiders and the way they read the code.

 

Then there is the good old HYPERLINK button you can use before you paste your article into most editors. This is the easiest way and if you are a newbie, the best way to send your anchor text!

 

          What’s All The Fuss About Backlinks?

 

Unless you want to throw your money out of the window and pay for expensive PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising you will want to target natural search engine rankings for any of your websites. This is also called organic ranking, SEO or SEM. It is very important to get real links to your site and sites pages. WHY? You need to be the authority and you need to have those wonderful keywords you got ranked for STAY RANKED! You need to do this or someone else is going to take your spot on that page. In fact, if you don’t get BACKLINKS AND MORE BACKLINKS, you might find you lose your place naturally from Google. All the Search Engines, if they like something you have, will give it a good rank and if you do nothing with it, will take it away and give it to someone else and maybe that person will do something with it.

 

You need to get as many backlinks as you can, links that are NOT spammed links, because believe me, without a doubt, ALL the search engines know they are getting spammed with bot links.

 

 

 

SPAM LINKS AND THEIR EFFECT

 

 

Okay, you just got yourself one of the new BOTS from one of the great guys on WF that sell them. I think these have their place. But only if you want to GIMMICK MARKET that quick hit for a few weeks on a “trend” type of product, or achieve a Black Hat sale in your niche.

 

BOTS are BAD for people who have sites that need true SEO work. Why? They go to forum after forum and post a link. The link is there and you might even see it in a few weeks on Site Explorer. Then the forum owner says it is time to clean up the junk. Sees your link and to the trash it goes!

 

You think Google, Bing, Yahoo, or ASK for instance does not take that into consideration when your link was there last week and now it is gone! They PUNISH YOU for this when they see a bunch of links suddenly GONE. You put them there and now Google sees they are gone and they are going to punish your site as SPAMMER SITE, a site trying to trick the algorithm and for that, place it in the SANDBOX or worse, give it a PR N/A!!! Maybe just maybe they will let you out of the SandBox in a few months. NEVER will you come back from a PR N/A though. So, is it worth all the work using the bot. All the work placing the links like that, only to be punished like a kid who tried to steal candy from the store? If you answered yes, please throw this report out and quit Internet marketing now. You’re wasting your time and money with it….

 

 

             Original, quality content and backlinks = tons of profits!

 

Sure you can try to game the search engines and publish rehashed crap for a quick dollar here and there, but if you are planning to stick around for the long-term you must use the above statement as your holy grail in online marketing. It is another GIMMICK!!!!

 

While you can publish rehashed content without punishment from Google or any other search engine, it will never rank for the same keyword or phrase a second time! It might rank for a ‘different’ keyword and phrase and in fact, MANY times it will and does. THOUSANDS of articles do this all the time on a daily basis. The best is to change a few sentences in the article to make it unique yet once again on another site and then it will rank for the same keyword and/or phrase again. This is possible….. You really want the quality backlinks this article will kick off to the other article that is ranking already. You want the bleed from it for sure!

 

Backlinks are where the money is at, and the more varied (on separate IPs) and with different anchor text they are, the better you will rank in the end. Thus, making more and more money hopefully! A niche that is profitable is where you make the money.

Never, ever use the same anchor text over and over again when building backlinks. Make sure you vary it, otherwise you will be the victim of what is called the Google Bomb. In real terms it means your site will end up being banned or in the sandbox. You want to use that anchor a lot but, NOT all the time. Did I tell you that you want to use it a lot, but not all the time yet? In case you missed it the first time…. And the second… Change your anchor text. You will benefit you a lot more then you think because, you might end up with that same article that is ranking, get on for a different variation of the keyword string and now you have two or three top places!!! JUST GET THOSE BACKLINKS IN PLACE… Or you are sure to lose that top rank!

 

While no one can escape the sandbox, with enough time and plenty of backlinks your site will end up ranking if you vary your anchor text. In case you missed the paragraph above.

I usually do the following to avoid the Google Bomb:

• I use my main keyword around 40-50% in my backlinks
• I use supporting keywords (long tails and variations of the main one) around 50-60%

This guarantees me that Google (and other search engines) see my backlinks as natural appearing links and not some gamed event that will only ever get me in trouble down the line.

          How Many Backlinks Do I Need To Rank In # 1 Position?

 

This is a question I get all the time and one no one can answer for sure. Having said this, you can do a few things to get a good idea. First of you can analyze your competition (the top 3 ranking sites for your target keyword) and see how many backlinks they have and whether these are quality links or not. Always get twice as many backlinks as the top guy and then you can keep a building pattern set up for a while. You never want to just leave it alone! Always watch your competition and remember, they are watching you too and now they are coming for you! You took their spot and they want it back! Do not give it up!

Usually, the more competitive a market/niche is, the higher and stronger your competition will be. When you first start out, target the long tail keywords as these are very easy to rank for – especially if you use my private network.   A private network assures you of links never being taken away from you! It is quite possible that you can be in the first spot with a handful of backlinks. On the contrary you might need hundreds of links to get there. Look at the competition with your SEO TOOL! Study what you need to get to take away NUMBER ONE!

In the end, you just have to keep building links until you rank higher. Once you do, all it takes is monitoring and maintenance to keep those positions for the long-term, especially if your links stay and your content is good.           Does It Matter What PR The Domains Have?

 

So many people waste their time discussing the value of the domains they place the links on. Listen up. The thing you should worry about is the number of links and the IPs these domains have.

I am not saying that the PR does not matter…. I am telling you over time you will have enough high ranking PR and lower ranking PR sites that will be considered natural by the Search Engines…. You cannot be told that you can only use HIGH PR and think that is reality. Because if you believe that fact, throw this report away and close your membership at EZA and delete your Warrior login… You do not need to be here….

You need to worry more about getting backlinks that will not be gone in 2 months then getting on a list for a ton of sites that everyone on every site has. WHY is this bad? Okay, do you think that the people at Google or Bing do not have a Warrior account? And do you not think they buy these WSO’s too??? And why do they get them? ANSWER: To tweak the Algorithm when it finds a pattern of the site using these lists. Then they PUNISH THEM! The person who sold you the list did it in good faith. I am not mad at them!!!! You should not be.

If you place all of your backlinks on ezinearticles or Hubpages and Squidoo lenses you will be outranked by the guy next door who is smart enough to utilize a network like mine to have incoming links for many different IP addresses.

Every website, every computer has its own unique IP address. If you consistently deal with the same site (i.e. ezine) you have maybe dozens of links, but they are all from the same IP.

Google gives you more credit and authority for links that point to your site from various IPs. Keep this in mind when you do backlinking. Now I might not be the biggest private network.
